The drinks are cold and made to order, the room is always temperature friendly, and it is as clean as most hospitals They have a great website with up-to-date shows posted so check them out and get there as quick as you can.Atlanta is well-known for embracing its LGBTQ community and the annual Atlanta Pride Parade and Festival is proof of this. Weekends especially may require a reservation for the front room. This is as close to listening to live music in your own living room as it gets and it is better as someone else is getting up and bringing you drinks. They mostly have local artist but they have some regulars from Dallas and Louisiana and occasionally someone will pop in from Chicago, Seattle or some other out of state location.

They serve some food that will do in a pinch but it is recommended to eat beforehand. Green Oaks also features some Americana, Folk, and Jazz artist on week day nights along with the aforementioned types of music. They do have some of the best open mikes in the area on most Sundays and at least once during the week. I have never seen any trouble in this bar and I have probably been there over 100 times. The audience is a melting pot of races and ages but mostly consist of retirement aged people. The weekends now feature mostly blues and blues rock artist but they do have an occasional country and rock band. They occasionally have shows outside when the weather is nice. This is a nonsmoking bar but they do have a covered porch and a very nice wood deck out front with chairs.

This grand old building is split into two sections with a listening room in front that seats about 40 and a traditional type bar in the back.

The staff is very professional and strive to make the best drinks and deliver them with a smile. The owners are always in attendance during live music shows to show their support for the artist and the audience. First off this is still the best listening room / bar in the state.
